Theater in review

Good Afternoon Everybody:

Instead of talking about an actual movie I’ve decided to discuss the actual theater it is viewed in.  I want to discuss iPic Theaters.  This place isn’t your normal sit down and watch the movie theater.  It’s a theater for the hardcore moviegoer who likes to splurge when it comes to enjoyment.  There is about 13 theaters in the continental united state, mainly Florida, Illinois, Arizona, Texas, California, Washington State and Maryland.   The inside of the actual theater has 2 different types of seating over sized leather arm chairs which is mainly the front few rows which is called premium seating and premium plus seating which is an oversized leather recliner and is the back few rows of the theater.  At the theater there is a membership program that is totally optional but if you’re the person who goes to a lot of movies you might want to consider getting the membership that costs money.  There are 4 levels of membership, but logically the first two are going to be the most important to the typical moviegoer.

  • Purple membership (Free) -discounted members seating, newsletter, email offers, and exclusive Tuesday deals.
  • Sapphire membership ($15 per year.)-Priority ticket purchase, free b-day ticket, free anniversary ticket, access to member events, access to point system that can be used for food, tickets and non-alcoholic drinks and all purple benefits listed above.

If your interested in learning more click on membership to go to the iPic page to read more.

Tickets here are a little different…. There are no matinee or evening prices just member price and non-member price.     Listed below is what comes with each seat type and how much it costs to sit there.

Premium seating- a comfy oversized chair
                Non-member: $14.00
                Member: $11.00

(First two rows in the awful greenish yellow color)

Premium Plus: complementary regular popcorn, blankets, pillows, extra comfortable reserved seats that recline, waiter service at your seat and no internet booking fees.

         Non-member: $14.00 + $10.00*
         Member:  $11.00 + $ 7.00*
(* indicates an upgrade fee is added to ticket)

Parking- At the Bethesda location they have a garage located next to the theater, your ticket covers 3 and a half hours of parking, if you want to stay longer it’s a dollar per hour, which I thought, wasn’t bad at all.

When sitting in the premium plus you can order from alcoholic drinks and food from the iPic Express Menu.  You can either order with your waiter or with the iPad located between your seat..  Personally I don’t know how the food tastes, I went pretty early to see a movie but from what I seen of the food it looked pretty good. I have provided a link to the menu they offer, click on the blue link above.  I hope to go again for Specter and possibly the new star wars.  If your looking for an awesome first date or just an epic movie experience you should try going here to iPic Theaters.

Our next encounter I’ll be talking about my Media Journal project I just got back from being graded.  Until I blog again, keep reaching for the stars and live life to the fullest.
