Afternon to All:
Today we’re going to discuss the
Media Journal project we had to turn in about a week ago. We had to keep a journal of our media usage
for seven consecutive days including what time we used it, what we used, why we
used it and for how long we used it.
Then once the journal was completed we had to make a few graphs with the
information we collected in the journal.
After we finished the graphs we had to write a three to five page paper
discussing our findings with the journal and graphs portion of the project.
All in all I thought it was an
interesting project and at the same time a bit of a pain in the neck because of
the actual journal entries and deciding what information you want to show with
your graphs. The paper itself was a pretty
decent experience once I figured out what I wanted to talk about and how to say
it. Sometimes I know what I want to say,
but have a hard time putting it on paper.
I definitely have a new prospective of media and how it effects my life
after this project, some of my totals I expected and others I thought to be
rather surprising. I seem to spend a lot
of time texting, watching Television, and playing video games. Those I expected since all I pretty much do
is work, go to school and stay home because being broke isn’t fun. Hopefully I get a decent grade on the
assignment and my teacher finds it as interesting as I did. Next time we’ll be
discussing my first media review for my intro to communication media class but
more about that later. Have a great rest
of the week!
